I have proof that shows they cheated me out of a fair trial...all of the evidence to show that I’m innocent and been wrongfully convicted.
— M.J.

Location
Lorain County, OH

Crime of Conviction
Aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, unlawful use of a weapon by a career criminal

Year of Conviction
2018

M.J. maintains that he is absolutely innocent. He writes that he witnessed the murder, a killing committed by the prosecutor’s informant in his trial. M.J. believes that the police department, prosecutors, and judge in his case colluded to cover up the prosecutor’s involvement.

M.J. writes that newly discovered physical evidence, including gun shot residue results from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations, demonstrates his innocence. He explains that the gun used in the crime was the same gun used by the informant on multiple prior occasions, but the involved police department and prosecutors neglected to violate the informant on his parole at the time. It is for this reason, M.J. believes, that police, prosecutors, and the judge in his case were motivated to cover up the informant’s involvement—to prevent this information from coming to light.

Procedural issues

In the course of the cover up and collusion M.J. describes, he writes that exonerating evidence was withheld from him, including the gun shot residue test results that he eventually received from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
