L.J. Writing from Michigan

This tragedy has been and still is heartbreaking to us all. I’m asking for any assistance you could provide, wanting to bring closure to a family that is still hurting.
— L.J.

Washtenaw County, MI

First degree felony murder.

2008

L.J. was convicted for the death of her child and sentenced to life. She writes that important evidence was not produced at her trial. She explains that the father of her child discovered her daughter's body and testified against her. A jailhouse informant also reported that the father had confessed to killing her child. L.J. has appealed and sought post-conviction relief, but has been unsuccessful. She hopes now to pursue a 6.500 Motion for Relief from Judgment, another form of post-conviction relief.
