Crime of Conviction
First degree murder.

Year of Conviction
2016

D.B. was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. He maintains that he was wrongfully convicted, and that his conviction and sentence were influenced by procedural errors. He writes that his court appointed counsel was ineffective in mounting his defense and that the court conspired to secure his conviction. D.B. explains that the roommate of the victim had made a statement to police indicating that the victim had died accidentally. Despite this statement, he writes that the prosecutor and public defender's offices wanted a conviction, and thus conspired to keep this statement out of court and prevent the witness from testifying.
