R.L. maintains his innocence—he claims that his alleged crime was derived from a warrantless wiretap. He also claims that during his trial, prosecutors improperly made comments implying his guilt based upon his silence. He also writes that his public defender encouraged his mother to file an ineffective assistance of counsel claim. R.L. has received numerous awards, has authored several books, and written numerous articles.
